Wedding Flowers Pricing Guide
How much do quality wedding flowers cost?
For the couples that are at the start of their wedding planning journey, we know how difficult and overwhelming it can feel when working out the dreaded, but ever so essential “wedding budget”.
We feel passionate about the importance of being transparent with you from the very start of the process - in fact, it’s something that we believe quite strongly about. So we’ve decided to pop together a super informative blog post on the cost of wedding flowers here in Surrey, in the South of England. We hope that it will give you a little help on what to anticipate when working out the pricing of your wedding flowers.
First thing to understand is that not all floral designers offer the same thing, comparing florists, is like comparing apples and oranges… yes they are fruit (florists) but they both look and taste very different! Some florists will be minimalist in style, some are maximalist which means their arrangements are juicy & full - whereas some shop/retail florists, might be able to offer better prices because they already hold stock in their shop.
Here at Holly & the Dragonfly, we are a studio florist - this means we order flowers in specifically for each wedding or event we create. When we purchase our ingredients we believe in using premium florals & beautiful high quality foliages in your wedding designs, as well as a varied selection of different types of flowers throughout the designs, which creates dynamic, textured and fulsome arrangements.
We will always select choice florals to feature in your designs, whether that’s abundant Garden Roses, paper thin Cosmos or decadent Delphiniums, we are not a florist that provides “petrol station” or “supermarket” style florals - no garish spray Chrysanthemums, Gypsophila or Lilies here…
In simple terms, what this actually means is that the flowers we choose for your bespoke wedding designs, do come with a somewhat higher price tag. We value incredible looking, premium quality florals that have been grown ethically and sustainably.
Where we can, we will support British Growers, this reduces our carbon footprint considerably, as well as buying from international Fairtrade growers that support paying their workers well and grow their flowers seasonally - which subsequently reduces their carbon footprint, by not heating glasshouses to produce florals that are out of their typical growing season.
Right, lets get into the nitty gritty and all the juicy detail of the different costs associated with your wedding flower designs. When we create your tailored wedding flowers proposal, we will lay it out into the four following sections - this includes your
Personal flowers - Bouquets, buttonholes & corsages
Ceremony flowers - Aisle décor, Ceremony statement piece/backdrop, entrance flowers, font designs
Wedding Breakfast flowers - Top Table flowers, Guest tables, Wedding Breakfast Feature, Bar designs
