Kimberley & Bobby - Botley Hill Barn, September, Autumn

The Day

A warm Autumn wedding day in mid September at the beautiful Botley Hill Barn. With autumnal changes to the landscape surrounding the grounds of the barn, leaves on the trees beginning to turn from a vivid green to a burnt yellow created the rich setting our couple desired.

The Brief

Seasonal florals were on the top of the agenda, creating a colour palette that was warm and inviting. The perfect season to execute this brief with the richness of tones, from a varied selection of flowers and foliage. Our bride shared that she loved textured designs and had a desire to include British grown florals into their wedding day. With the couple having both Australian (the bride) and Irish (the groom) heritage, we thought about ways in which we could include their heritage into the designs.

The Flowers

We used a selection of seasonal flowers to showcase rich autumnal tones. This included a selection of Dahlias, Piano Roses, Euphorbia, Trailing Eucalyptus, Berried Viburnum, Thistle, Butterfly Ranunculus, Acacia Foliage, Lisianthus alongside a variety of garden Roses. Bouquets were styled with long trailing chiffon ribbon in tones of burnt orange

The Ceremony & Wedding Breakfast

The ceremony took place in the brick built Oakley Barn. Terracotta pots were used to line the aisle, filled with dynamic fresh flowers that toned in with the colour palette, however each slightly different from the rest.

The fireplace that sits behind the couple whilst they marry was ablaze with golden orange embers and we created a beautiful arrangement on the mantlepiece which would later be moved to a floral canopy on the top table above the couple for their wedding breakfast.

Once the ceremony was complete guests moved onto the Lawns to enjoy drinks, canapes and photos. We then transformed the Baby & Main Barn into an autumnal paradise, with terracotta pots that contained cut flowers, alongside others that were filled with potted Viola and Herbs.

The Baby barn was adorned with our magical Moongate and decorated simply with branches of British grown beech

The final styling for the tables was introducing clear and blue cut glass candlestick holders, paired with burnt orange, green, deep red and moody blue tapered candles. The best way to create a warm & inviting space for those shorter autumn evenings.
